Alexandra (Alex) and Barry met on JDate in December 2010. They agreed to disagree over who reached out to who, but the minute they started talking they made an instant connection. Alex had just moved back to NYC after graduating from college. Barry had made himself at home in NYC and was finally ready to meet someone.

The funny thing is that when Alex and Barry started talking on JDate they realized they were actually friends with several of the same people (their second date was a birthday party for one of those friends).

They decided to go out on that first date, which was a date of a lifetime. On the way to meet Barry, Alex heard someone say to their friend on the phone, “Enjoy your last first date,” which made her think maybe this would be her last first date, too! And that it was…

success-alexandra-barry-tmb2The date lasted five hours! Alex and Barry had dinner, walked around the city, and ended up Starbucks until it closed. It was clear they were off to a great start. Soon, all of their dates started to blend in. It was like they had known each other forever.

Alex and Barry had been dating for two and a half years when they went on vacation to Miami. Barry brought Alex to the beach where they had said “I love you” for the first time two years earlier and wrote, “Will You Marry Me?” in the sand.

Needless to say, Alex and Barry couldn’t be happier to have met the love of their life and best friend through JDate. Even though they were in the same group of friends, they may have never ended up together if it wasn’t for JDate. Thank you Jewish Geography, and JDate!

Fun Fact: The wedding date they have chosen is 10-12-14 which is the combination of their first date 12-14-10.
