Alli and Aaron had both recently moved to Cleveland, Ohio (far from their respective homes in Florida and Wisconsin) to start new jobs. A few months after the move, on the eve of her birthday, Alli joined JDate hoping this New Year would bring something special.
Aaron had been on and off JDate, changing cities as he relocated for work, and had been unable to find a serious connection with anyone. However, he decided to give JDate another try now that he knew he would be in Cleveland for a while.
Just hours after Alli signed up, she had her first JDate message from Aaron. They shared a few messages, exchanged phone numbers, and scheduled a date for the following week. Alli was late though when she got stuck at work. She tried to cancel the date, but Aaron was persistent and they met for drinks on October 26, 2011. The hour they spent together was perfect, and they planned their second date, at Great Lakes Brewery, for just two days later. Aaron was sure she was “The One,” but Alli needed a bit more convincing!
They spent the following months exploring their new city together, trying new restaurants, going to the theatre, and traveling. They discovered a mutual love of great food, wine, coffee, and each other. Just seven months after meeting, Alli asked Aaron to move in. This time Aaron needed more convincing, but they moved in together four months later.
On December 15, 2012, just over a year after meeting Alli, Aaron invited both sets of parents to Cleveland to witness his declaration of love for Alli. At their favorite coffee house, they picked out beans for a special French press and sat down for a scone and a donut. Out of the corner of her eye, Alli saw a huge coffee cup coming her way. Written in latte art on the top was “Marry Me?” Aaron then got down on one knee in front of the entire store, and both sets of parents, and asked Alli to be his wife. She said “Yes!”
Alli and Aaron are thrilled to be planning their wedding and their lives together and are so grateful that JDate helped them meet their Beshert.
