Dear JDate,

I joined JDate because I was moving back to New York and didn’t know anyone.  After many bad dates and conversations, I decided it was time to be done with it.  Clearly, the site wasn’t for me and I would have to find some other way to meet someone.  Little did I know that later that day my soul mate would send me a message.

Adam and I spoke on the phone for a few weeks before we decided to meet.  To be honest, I did not think he was the guy for me.  The conversations were nice, but I didn’t think that there was much chemistry there.  On the day of our first date, my friends had to convince me to go meet him and for that I will be forever thankful.

Our first date was amazing.  It lasted for six hours and ended in a kiss that had me so flustered I drove over the curb.  I woke up the next morning at 6 a.m. with a smile on my face and butterflies in my stomach.  From that moment on, I was hooked.  The more time we spent together, the more certain I was that this was the man I was meant to be with.

On February 21, 2009, Adam took me out for my birthday and on a carriage in Central Park, nervously proposed to me.  It was the most wonderful and surreal moment of my life.  Almost one year to the day, on February 20, 2010, I married the man of my dreams, my best friend and perfect fit.  Every day I spend with him only reassures me that we were meant to be together.  If it wasn’t for JDate, and a little prodding from my friends, I would have missed out on the amazing adventure Adam and I have embarked on.
