I had been on and off JDate and dating in New York for ten years. I decided to give JDate one more try after one of my good friends met her husband on the site and encouraged me to try again.

Dan was my first date after I went back online. We met at the W Hotel Bar at Union Square in December 2009. I remember thinking, “Wow, this guy is so easy to talk to.”

We went out again a few days later and he asked me to go out for New Year’s Eve. I hesitated, thinking I should go out with my single girlfriends instead because I didn’t really know him, but I told him I would let him know. I asked my good friend if she would come with me, and I set her up with one of Dan’s friends. We all went out on New Year’s Eve. On that third date, on January 31, I knew this was something special. I saw Dan with his friends and how generous and kind he was. I felt like I was home.

Two years later, on December 3, 2011, we got married in my hometown in New Jersey.
