Dear JDate,

Hi! Sorry I didn’t respond sooner — I was still afraid to jinx things, but my boyfriend finally convinced me that we couldn’t be jinxed. I met him, Dave, on JDate.com — he saw my picture and profile and wrote to me just before Thanksgiving in 2001. After a few quick emails and one phone call, we finally met on November 30 (which we both now consider a magical date in both of our lives).

We met at Cafe Intelligentsia. I walked in, turned around, saw him and felt something warm. I knew there was something special about him right then. He smiled and gave me a hug. That was so unusual. Most people usually just shake your hand on the first date, but that hug was so nice. That hug just is a great reflection of his personality. He is very warm and caring and understanding and kind and absolutely perfect. In addition to being completely gorgeous.

So we have been going out for over a year now. We are very much in love. We have done a lot of fun things together, but we are also on the same page about a lot of things and can talk for hours. I am in advertising and he is a radio DJ, so we can talk about our industries too. There has not been a day in the past year when I haven’t talked to Dave. In fact, if I don’t, it’s like not having enough air to breathe.

Dave and I are moving in together in a few months. We can’t wait! We are so happy and are incredibly grateful to JDate.com for helping us find each other.
