I received an e-mail though JDate on Saturday, September 11th, 2010.  We agreed to meet the next day for coffee at Starbucks®. I had him in my ‘maybe’ column for a while and had never contacted him.

Well, I got there before he did and he was late.  He jumps out of his car like some little preppy doctor and I thought, “heaven help me he is going to be just another cup of coffee.” Little did I know that on August 27th, 2011, we would be married and he would make me the happiest woman in the world. And to think, we both were going to cancel our subscriptions just before we met and decided to hang on for one more day.

I never thought a man could care so much and be so kind. We both had been through the wringer and were about to give up, and JDate made it possible for us to find each other.  We are in our fifties and never thought it could happen like this. Thank you JDate for helping us find our soul mate.

My kids love him too.

  1. I read your story and smiled. Thank you Beverly and Robert for giving me hope that I too can find my soul mate while in my 50’s!

  2. ha, cinderella met her prince!
these sites are like snake oil in a bottle.

  3. “your comment is awaiting moderation”

that means there is less truth than fact, if you can’t allow free speech.

  4. I don’t think you were being censored “Realist”….
I posted a positive comment and “Your comment is awaiting moderation” just means Jdate reviews a comment before posting.

  5. Good story, true story and right story. People need life and having interests, activities, etc… is avoidance of life.

  6. when activities and interests take place ahead of relationship then person becomes voided from life, that is the truth which many people do not want to hear out.

  7. Why the negativity? It’s hard to connect like this especially after the 50 yr. mark. Good luck to them.
(btw…it’s not snake oil if it’s true and why wouldn’t a company announce their successes?….I hate this process but that’s what it is….a process…no one is promised an outcome)
