Once you find your significant other, it’s important to make sure you don’t get bored of each other. It’s easy to fall into a relationship rut when things become dull. But don’t worry – you don’t have to be whisked away to Paris to have fun with your partner. To keep the spark alive, I recommend trying out these suggestions below.

1.  Date Night

Date night isn’t just a movie title; it should be something that occurs at least once a week. To keep the passion alive and exciting, couples have to spend quality time together. Instead of frequenting the trendiest new restaurant, try making a home cooked meal together. Buying the ingredients yourself is a lot less expensive than dining in a restaurant. Besides, this way, you can wear whatever you please and you don’t have to tip the waiter.

2.  Outdoor Adventure

A picnic in the park allows you to appreciate the outdoors. After spending the day outside, you’ll feel like you’re on vacation. Plus, you never know what can happen when you’re lying on a blanket in a secluded spot with your loved one.

3.  Wine Me Please

I personally love vineyards. I think they’re romantic and absolutely beautiful. Drinking some delicious wine, hanging out with your lover, and enjoying the beautiful scenery sounds like a fabulous weekend activity that won’t put you in debt.

4.  Beach Time

The beach is a very romantic place, especially at night. If you want to go on a romantic date, a quiet beach is the perfect spot. You can star gaze and even play in the ocean if it’s a warm night.

5.  Movies Rock

You don’t always need to leave your house for a great date. Cuddling up with a blanket and popcorn can be fun too. These days, movies are on demand for under $5. Renting a movie with your significant other is one way to have fun without ever leaving your apartment.

6.  Music Please

One thing I love about living in a city is that there are so many free concerts. Concert tickets can be very pricey these days, so why not take advantage of a free show? Live music is always fun and as long as it’s not raining; a free concert is a unique way to switch up date night.

7.  Games Are Fun

Guess what? Board games aren’t just for children. Monopoly, Twister, and even Poker can be fun to play with your boyfriend or girlfriend. If you’re daring, you can raise the odds by adding a monetary incentive.  I bet it isn’t every night that you play a game.

8.  Vacation Schmation

Do you need a vacation but can’t afford the 5-star trip to Europe that you’ve been dying to take? Don’t worry; you can still go away without going into overdraft. There are tons of Bed & Breakfast hotels all over the country. A cozy B&B is much more romantic than a humongous, overpriced hotel anyway.

9.  Massage It Up

Let’s be honest – everyone loves a massage. Who doesn’t want to be rubbed down with some delightful smelling oils? Instead of giving your partner a gift certificate that will cost a pretty penny, be a masseuse for the night. Besides being a very romantic gesture, it will only cost you a few dollars for the lovely scented oil.

10. Let’s Run

Exercise isn’t over rated, it’s necessary. If you’re in need of some cardio, take your partner outside and go for a run. Working out together will keep you in shape and it’s free. How can you beat that? After all, people say couples that play together, stay together.

So now that you know how to spice up your relationship without maxing out your credit cards, get to it!  There’s no better time to try out something new than tonight.
