How did you meet? What was your first date like? Give us all the details!
Shawn and I first met online on JDate. I had just left Passover in Austin with family. While there, I basically had an epiphany about my future. I had been on JDate on and off for around six years or so, and had met some former partners on the site. None of those relationships lasted, and I had grown tired of the dating Ferris wheel.

We “met” in April on JDate when I opened his email for the first time. That day, we spoke online for about two hours, and then had a Skype call that lasted almost all day. Shawn came down to Houston from Austin when we decided to meet. I took him to my favorite Mexican restaurant, Cuchara, and then to a wine bar across the street. My uncle lives next to the bar, and I figured if Shawn was shady in any way, I could quickly call in for back up. Thankfully, I didn’t have to.

Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
Honestly, on our first date I realized that I was entering into something that was different than anything else I had ever had or experienced.

What advice would you give other JDaters?
Keep it simple. What you think you want, you don’t. Look to someone who shares a “why” in common with you. Cultivate your profile so that you are showing the most vulnerable side of who you are. Be open, and fall into it. Its a process.
