JDate is responsible for more Jewish marriages than all other dating sites combined! But we’ve got more than just statistics to back it up. In our “Success Stories” feature, you’ll meet real couples who found love online.

How did you meet? What was your first date like? Give us all the details! claire-and-yehuda-03
It was in 2014 that while Claire was living in her quaint little apartment in New York City, Murray Hill to be exact, she spotted this handsome young man on JDate with dark hair and dark eyes (exactly her type and what she imagined her future husband to look like). Then, she noticed his majestic height of 6’1″ and became really excited! She sent him a message and waited for a response. Claire and Yehuda sent several messages back and forth, but didn’t end up meeting. Don’t ask why, we don’t know! We attribute it to the busy life of being in the Big Apple. A couple months later, they again crossed paths and matched on Tinder, another dating site. Yehuda really wanted to take Claire ice skating, but Claire thought she would look funny on skates so she denied this request. Again, the future prince and princess went on to other adventures, again, don’t ask why they didn’t just meet for a beverage instead.

Claire decided some months down the road to reach out to Yehuda, but he wasn’t available! Three weeks before Claire was moving out of NYC, she got a message from her Prince Charming asking her if anyone had flown her to the moon yet, as this was Claire’s headline on her Whatsapp account. What a sweet pick-up line, huh?! We think so too! Claire informed Yehuda that she would be moving in three weeks, so he wished her well and she told him they should meet anyway just for fun since they had connected online so many times! They agreed to FINALLY meet, but spoke for a week on the phone since Yehuda was out of town for work. Claire thought he had the sexiest Brooklyn accent and would get so excited every time during that week that she received a text from this handsome lad. His humor was refreshing and he was a charmer, even through text.claire-and-yehuda-02

On the night of April 24, 2015, Claire stepped out of her taxi cab in Cooper Square and walked anxiously toward the Standard Hotel to go on the last date she said she would go on in New York City. Claire was hoping he looked like his pictures, many dates did not, and Yehuda was hoping the same. As she walked in the door to Narcissa, the restaurant he chose for their first date, and turned the corner, she saw the man she was once told by a psychic she would spend her life with: a tall man with dark hair and dark eyes. He looked EXACTLY like his pictures, only better because he was real. When Yehuda caught a glimpse of this babe, he too was overcome with her real beauty. At that moment, they both joked about how what they both had hoped for came true!

Fast forward 1.5 years and after 9 months of long-distance traveling back and forth between Florida and New York, it was a windy yet magical day on the top of the Rockefeller Center in NYC where a crowd of strangers, along with Yehuda’s family, had gathered around Yehuda to await his proposal to Claire. Yehuda’s sister had gone to brunch that day with Yehuda’s mother, Claire and her mother who was visiting from Colorado. Esti, his sister, had helped Yehuda to set up the whole event.

“Lets go to the Top of the Rock,” she said. She knew Claire and her mother had never been, so they made a fun day of it. So it was on November 12, 2016 at 3:54 pm when Yehuda’s mother, followed by Claire’s mother, walked out onto the balcony on the 70th floor of the skyscraper and were shocked at the sight of Yehuda who was supposed to be home “studying.” Shortly after, Claire turned the corner herself so surprised that she couldn’t even speak when she saw the love of her life kneeling down on one knee waiting to ask for her hand. All the while, the rest of Claire’s family was watching on FaceTime as Claire snapped out of her dream and said “Yes!” What a magical day it was!

claire-and-yehuda-06What advice would you give other JDaters?
Don’t give up! All it takes is that one person to come into your life and spend the rest of it loving each other, having an unconditional best friend and creating new memories together! You’ve come this far, so keep the faith! People always said this to me and I was like, “Yeah, yeah, sure.” Now, I believe them!
