How did you meet? What was your first date like? Give us all the details!
Igor and I had both just recently signed up for a six-month subscription on JDate, and within the first week, I messaged him. Igor replied and we began messaging back and forth until we finally decided to go on a first date. We went for sushi and happy hour after work one Friday night for Shabbat dinner. The conversation was flowing and before we knew it, we had spent over six hours together. When Igor walked me to the car before we left, he gave me a small bracelet. He claims that is when I fell in love with him. It was such a sweet gesture, and I knew right then that there was something special about him! Fast forward to 2 1/2 years later, we had moved in together and he proposed to me in January 2016.

I love the story of how Igor proposed to me. We were at his father’s 50th birthday party, and he had been quiet all night. I assumed that was due to him having to give a toast in front of the whole restaurant in honor of his father. I had been given one task by Igor’s mom, which was to take a photo of his dad’s birthday cake when they brought it out to sing “Happy Birthday” to him. I was ready to take pictures of Igor saying his toast to his father. Little did I know, when he got the microphone to give a toast to his dad, he turned, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I could not believe what was happening. My hands started shaking, tears streaming down my face … I was so surprised. I couldn’t even get words together to respond to the question and just nodded my head yes, of course! The entire restaurant screamed and applauded. It couldn’t have been more special.

Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
I knew it was true love from the beginning. Igor was right when he said on our first date, when he gave me the bracelet, I fell hard for him right then. I look at him every day and fall more in love with him than the day before.

What advice would you give other JDaters?
Keep at it. We both had been active on JDate on and off and had gone on many dates with other people from JDate and none of them panned out – until we did!
