Gymnastics Ain’t Over Yet!

The U.S. Women’s Gymnastics team (AKA “The Fierce Five”) has had an amazing showing at the London 2012 Olympics. The team won gold and has been dubbed the best women’s gymnastics team in the world. However, the gymnastics hoopla ain’t over yet!

Jewish gymnast Julie Zetlin starts competing in the rhythmic all-around qualification round today. As the lone representative for Team USA,  she will begin competition on ball and then go on to finish her first day of competition on hoop. Following these qualification rounds today and tomorrow, the top 10 athletes will move on to the final round on Saturday, August 11.

The U.S. has never medaled in rhythmic gymnastics, but has qualified for the Olympics in every Games, except for two since 1984.
