Lewis and Jacqueline met on JDate in August 2009.  Even though they lived at opposite ends of the country, Jacqueline in British Columbia and Lewis in Ontario, they didn’t let the distance keep them from starting a conversation that lasted six weeks, and resulted in a trip for Jacqueline to Toronto for their first date. Lewis arranged for a bouquet of flowers to greet Jacqueline in her hotel room upon her arrival and she knew from that moment that this was something special. Their first date was on a warm September night, and was very romantic; a beautiful dinner on a patio with dancing to follow. They were inseparable for the days that followed; including a Sunday spent watching football (one of his favorite hobbies).

Serendipitously, Jacqueline was offered a new job in Toronto and made the move a few months later.  When she told Lewis about this job opportunity, his response was, “I can’t wait to get to know you even better and see where this goes.” They have been together ever since and have built a life together in Toronto. After almost four years, Lewis proposed this summer in Jacqueline’s hometown of Vancouver at a secluded spot overlooking the ocean. They are getting married this winter and having two wedding celebrations; one in each of their provinces.

Their advice to others on JDate is to be open to all possibilities, and don’t let distance get in the way of love… you never know who or where you will meet the right person. Lewis and Jacqueline would never have met without JDate’s help – thank you!
