I had seen Scott’s profile on JDate and sent him a private message, but did not receive a message back. I thought I had cancelled my membership, and then got an email that Scott wrote me back, but I knew I would not be able to read it without a membership. One day, however, I looked at my credit card statement and realized my membership did not actually get cancelled, so I logged onto JDate and read Scott’s message! Luckily, Scott left his cell phone number so I immediately texted him. That was a Monday night and we made a date for Wednesday night.

On Wednesday, March 16, 2011, our first date was at Cheesecake Factory. The waitress kept coming back – for what must have been forty-five minutes – to take our order, but we hit it off and just kept talking. We realized we had many similar interests and our friends were friends of one another. It was the fastest date I had ever been on. Upon Scott’s request, the night ended with a kiss.

Our relationship had begun immediately and we were having so much fun with each other. Quickly, we introduced each other to our friends, and eventually our families. We moved in together in May 2012 and knew our relationship was something special.

Jessica & Scott-JDate-2On June 14, 2013 I came home from work and found rose petals up the stairs to our apartment. Slightly confused, there was a note on the door that said “Jess, read before entering.” As I read the card, I heard music in the apartment, so I opened the door and there was Scott on his knee, asking me to marry him. I said, “Yes!”

Scott and I bought our home in July 2013 and got married May 25, 2014 in Scituate, MA. Our wedding day was everything we could have dreamed of, surrounded by our family and friends. We are so excited to officially be Mr. and Mrs. and owe it all to JDate!

  1. you’re lucky you found each other.
Canada doesn’t have the same population as the States, it’s not so easy here.
    Best of luck to you.
