How did you meet? What was your first date like? Give us all the details!
Jess and I met on JDate towards the end of June 2014. She had been on the site for a while, and was just about to give up and cancel her membership. I, on the other hand, had just joined.

I saw Jess’s profile and knew I had to meet her! Jess wasn’t as convinced. It took some nudging from a friend at work to get her to message me back. When she did, conversation flowed easily. We went from JDate messages, to texts, to calls, to our first date on July 11, 2014.

Jess is originally from Windsor, Ontario, and I live in Detroit. There were 30 minutes and an international border separating our two homes. We agreed to meet in Greektown in downtown Detroit. We had dinner at a restaurant in a hotel, and the food was pretty terrible! But neither of us cared because we were so drawn to each other. We were at dinner for three hours just talking. Then, we walked through the streets of Greektown and closed the night with our first kiss.

Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
I was feeling really good after our first date. We went out again two days later, this time in Canada. Ten minutes into our date, I just looked at her and realized all the stress and tension I had felt on other dates knowing the person wasn’t “just right” wasn’t there. She was smart, sweet, funny and beautiful. She seemed a perfect match for me. I knew immediately that I was done dating anyone else. I knew there that I was going to marry her.

Jess felt very similar feelings. She says she was so excited after our first date, and felt like we were immediate partners in life. She knew she was done dating anyone else.

What advice would you give other JDaters?
JDate is the best! You know the other person is looking. You know they share a critical core religious value. And it allows you to meet people you never would come across in a typical day. Jess is six years younger than me and lived in a different country! I never would have met her. My life has so much harmony in it now because I found Jess on JDate. By finding a partner on this site, we have guaranteed we will be building a Jewish home together, raising a Jewish family together, and sharing great family traditions together because we have the same foundation to build on.
