Two years ago, I met my perfect person on JDate. He was a jaded JDater® and I was a first-time user, tired of waiting for Prince Charming to find me.

After dissecting my profile for the umpteenth time, I posted it for all eligible Jewish princes to view. I waited for two weeks, hoping my profile would intrigue someone to respond, but alas, nothing. I decided to take matters into my own hands and started to look for myself. It didn’t take long…

Andrew’s online profile picture showed him wearing a blue t-shirt over a white button-down; the t-shirt said: “Hug a Jew Day.” He was also holding a box of matzah. I thought his photo was hysterical and I could instantly sense his personality. He had a slightly crooked grin across his face that melted my heart. I remember looking at his photo and saying, “Now that is the man I should marry.”

One month and a handful of emails later, we had our first phone conversation – followed by a date later on in the week. They say that “When you know, you know,” and for us… we just knew. Andrew is the man that I always hoped for, was scared I would never find, but never stopped dreaming about. On November 16, 2013, my best friend will become my husband. Now when people ask where I met my fiancé, I joke and say, “I bought him online!”
