Almost three years ago, I moved to Chicago for work. I didn’t know anybody there. Shortly after moving, I joined JDate and was quickly overwhelmed because there were hundreds of Jewish women on the site in Chicago. After a couple of weeks of clicking through a good number of profiles, one night, I found a girl I hadn’t seen before. Immediately, I was nodding my head in agreement as I read Kim’s profile, feeling that we had a lot in common. I remember thinking, “I have to meet this girl.”

After exchanging a few messages and then texting, we met for a night of dinner, drinks and trivia at an Irish pub. The conversation came easily and we quickly connected over our love of sports and similar music interests. She also had a great sense of humor. After a few more dates, we both knew we had found someone special.

Kim was also new to Chicago and we enjoyed exploring the city together as we learned more about each other and our relationship grew. We attended baseball games and concerts together, and we always made each other laugh. Our personalities clicked. A few months into our relationship, I took Kim to my hometown of Cleveland for a wedding and she met my family and friends. I couldn’t have felt any prouder as I introduced her to everyone and it was around that time I realized she might be “the one.”

We moved in together about seven months after meeting, and a year later we were engaged. This past June, we got married. I love her so much that we even moved to her hometown of Milwaukee a year ago to be close to her wonderful family. I don’t know where we would be without JDate, but there’s no way I would have found Kim by going from bar to bar in a big city like Chicago. Instead, the first date for each of us in Chicago turned out to be our final first date. It was Beshert and I can’t imagine life without her. Thank you JDate!
