How did you meet? What was your first date like? Give us all the details!
I had seen Marc’s profile come up before but, as he lived in Manchester and I was in Brighton, I thought there was no point in chatting to him … how wrong I was! Unknown to me, he had in fact sent me a JDate email line that said he would travel a million miles to see my smile and indeed, he eventually did! I hadn’t seen that email, and one Saturday afternoon after experiencing a terrible date via JDate, I thought I’d give the online dating world one last shot. I thought I’d see whoever was online from my favorites list and, to my surprise, Marc popped up. I sent him a hello and we chatted for bit before deciding that the distance was too far to arrange a date!

However, the next day, Marc ended up chatting to me again online and we just hit it off. We eventually exchanged emails and phone numbers and, after talking for over an hour, decided to arrange a date in London for two weeks later. We arranged to meet at Euston Station at 1pm and go for coffee, but that date ended up lasting 24 hours as we both got on so well we didn’t want the date to finish! What was supposed to be just a coffee and chatting turned into strolling around Covent Garden, lunch in Camden, drinks in Leicester Square, a movie and finally, cocktails in Soho! We decided to stay in London and spend all of Sunday together as well and therefore, it was the longest first date ever!

Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
The moment we both realized we had something special was three months later when Marc invited me to go to his cousin’s extravagant wedding with him. All of his family members were there and we had the best time ever. Everybody complimented us on how well we looked together! Within eight months of us dating, Marc got a job in Brighton, left all his family and friends behind up north and we moved in together!

What advice would you give other JDaters?
Don’t give up! I had a terrible first experience with JDate and wanted to give up, but my friends encouraged me to carry on and I’m very happy I did as the next person I chatted to is now my husband!
