On a boring Friday night, after going back and forth trying to decide if I wanted to sign up for an online dating site, I created a JDate profile. I figured that at least I could relate to the people more so on JDate.

After checking out several profiles, I came across Andrew, a guy who shared a lot of the same interests as me. Traditionally I was always taught to wait for the guy to make the first move. I was too anxious though and couldn’t wait, so I messaged him. Boy, am I glad I did!

On Oct 17, 2006 we met at a local restaurant where sparks flew immediately. We both were surprised we had never met before.

We dated for five years when Andrew decided to pop the question on Valentine’s Day weekend of 2011 at the original restaurant where we met. It was amazing.

We just recently tied the knot on May 5th, 2013 in Yardley, Pennsylvania and look forward to a happy life together as one.

A piece of advice for other people looking for their soul mate: That person is out there and it’s worth making the first move on certain occasions. Thank you JDate, you once again did your job!
