I was getting so frustrated, going on date after date and not finding the “right one.” Then, on January 16, 2008, I instant messaged this guy.  I figured, hey he’s cute, why not? At first, he did not respond.  I was a little annoyed and figured it was his loss. He then wrote me back, but I was away from my computer. 

We kept writing back and forth, missing each other every time.

Finally that night (and it was late), we got in touch. We spoke online for a long time until he asked for my phone number. Lance was sarcastic, which I liked. We agreed to meet up that Friday. We hit it off on the phone, but I had done that 100 times before. I gave it a shot, knowing that he lived in Hoboken and I in Brooklyn. Many of the men on the site didn’t want to travel.

On January 18, 2008 I met the love of my life. Our first date was amazing and we have had hundreds of dates since then. People always told me, “When you meet him, you will know.” They were so right. I knew from the first few dates that I would be with this man forever.

Lance proposed to me on April 3, 2009 in my classroom in front of all of my students. I was speechless (which is rare) and it was just so amazing.

Lance and I got married on May 22, 2010. We just had our first child on June 10, 2011: A handsome baby boy. We have never been happier. We are so thankful for JDate and we know it’s a success. Don’t give up. That person is out there! We are living proof.
