Phil’s New Year’s resolution was to find a nice, Jewish girl. So, in late December of 2006, he logged on to JDate.

Luckily, Phil knew what he was looking for: someone under 5’4″ within a one-mile radius of his zip code. Plus, her profile needed to include the key words “Mets” and “running.” Rachel fit the bill!

The two met for a run on their first date. (Rachel’s best friend thought a running date was a crazy idea, but her mother said, “Watch out, she’ll probably marry the guy.”)

Rachel and Phil have now been married for nearly four years, have run two marathons together (one of them just weeks after their wedding), and just had their first baby.
