On paper, we were not a match. Alan was only looking for a friend/activity partner, while I was looking for more. He was a “red,” and that hadn’t worked for me previously. So I stayed away from all “reds.”

If I had read Alan’s profile more closely, I never would have contacted him; but, as fate would have it, due to the fact that my JDate membership was expiring, I sent him an IM. That was in March 2010. We met a month later and were married a little more than two years later in June 2012 (on Father’s Day).

I think that as women, sometimes we think too much. We create a picture of someone who we think would be a good match for us, when in reality, no one knows what a good match is until people meet in person.

Alan and I enrich each other’s lives in so many ways and complement each other in our personalities and attitudes. We feel so blessed to have found each other at this point in our lives.

Thank you, JDate, for bringing us together and for making us a “success” story!
