Philip and I met on JDate in December of 2010. I was working on a graduate degree in Economics at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Philip, who is in the Air Force, was stationed at a base over 90 miles away from me in Goldsboro, North Carolina. I received a message from Philip via JDate, and I was so impressed by his charm and sincerity.
After we exchanged a few messages, we decided to speak on the phone. I was surprised at how comfortable everything felt when we were talking with each other. Philip let me know that he was going to be near Durham the same night that we started exchanging messages for a Chanukkah party, so we decided to meet up afterwards. We had a great time talking and eating pizza, and before we knew it, it was 3:30 AM! After that, we talked on the phone every day and we took turns doing the long drive back and forth between Goldsboro and Durham to see each other.
On September 9, 2011, Philip proposed to me at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Georgia, where he is now stationed. We are getting married on June 24, 2012, and we could not be more excited!
