Sheri and Jonathan spoke for the first time in the fall of 2006. During this time, Sheri was a young freshman in college at Pittsburgh and Jonathan was attending law school in Philadelphia. While the two had a lot in common (they were from the same town, attended the same college, and shared a love for Philadelphia sports), nothing came of the messaging and it stopped after a few months.

A few years later, Sheri found herself back on JDate and came across Jonathan’s profile. She remembered talking to him, but decided she wouldn’t pursue it again. Jonathan, on the other hand, took the first step and messaged Sheri. Once again, the two hit it off!

This time was different though because both Sheri and Jonathan were older and truly ready for a serious relationship. Although Sheri was finishing up her last year of school in Pittsburgh, the two maintained a long-distance relationship. Sheri eventually moved back to Philadelphia, and the love between the two of them grew even stronger. In September of 2011, Sheri and Jonathan moved into their first home together. It was in this very condo on May 8, 2012 that Jonathan asked Sheri to marry him.

Although JDate is a new way of meeting a significant other, Jonathan and Sheri are definite proof that it works. If not for JDate, two individuals that at one point lived just down the street from each other would never have crossed paths. The best advice they can give to JDate users is to give it a chance more than once because you truly never know. Also, always be honest and truthful about what you want, and look for someone who shares your passions and interests.

Sheri and Jonathan are getting married on October 19, 2013. The two recently bought a townhouse in the suburbs and are excited to begin their future as husband and wife!
