Spring Trends 2014_Header

Finally! Spring is here, flowers are blooming, the cold weather is dissipating, outside activities are beckoning… and love is in the air.  There is just something magical about the feeling of spring. It is as if your destiny awaits around the corner!  And if new and exciting experiences or people are just around the corner, I always say: you must dress accordingly!

Getting your wardrobe up to date for the springtime is very important.  Not because you NEED new clothes or must be innovatively trendy, but because adding a little bit of freshness to your closet is an easy way to create new energy for you. This is especially important when it comes to dating.   Think about how you feel when you wear that “same dress” on every date? Or for guys, that same favorite shirt because it’s the one you think you look great in.  That can actually become very uninspiring, which is not how you want to feel when walking up to meet your date. You want to feel confident.  You need to feel confident.  So let’s take a look at the Spring 2014 trends for your wardrobe:

For Men:

Throw trends out the window! (Happy to hear me say that?) I’ve just completed my Spring 2014 trend research to see what interesting trends we could translate for you in a fun creative way and I have to say: NONE OF THEM WORK.

So, here’s the great news: ditch the “trends” and just go pick up some new gear for yourself. It’s as simple as that. Invest in a medium wash, straight or slim straight denim. Look at short sleeve button downs and also rock ’n roll graphic tees.  Those will never be out of style and will always look great. Also, invest in a new leather wallet, if you haven’t done so recently. (Trust me, it’s those little details that ladies notice and are intrigued by.)

For the Ladies:

Now trends for women are much easier to navigate than the trends for men.  We have more options, and more wearable varieties. So after reviewing the Spring 2014 trends, there are a few favorites that will be great updates for your dating attire:

Start your spring off by investing in colored lace. What I love about colored lace is that you can find it in all categories from skirts, to blouses, and even dresses. Plus, you can get it in candy colors to swoon over:  lemons, corals, baby blues. Soft and sweet is the way to go.  It’s feminine and sophisticated.

The other trend to try is the bold coat. If you live in a city where it’s still kind of chilly, or the temperature drops at night, having a brightly colored jacket is such an easy update to your wardrobe.  It shows personality, creativity and confidence!

And lastly, invest in a baby blue heel, pump, or strappy sandals.  It’s one of those fresh, fun trends that will make any denim outfit feel girly, and a floral dress feel girlier!  And not to fret, baby blue will look fresh for fall as well, so it most definitely will take you through summer and beyond.

So whatever you choose to invest in for the spring season, remember, when you freshen up your look, you will genuinely radiate more confident energy.  And as you all know my mantra by now: confident energy is your best dating secret of all!
