How did you meet? What was your first date like? Give us all the details!
I was reluctant to join an online dating site, but decided to give it a try. As for Gabriel, he had decided that in the New Year (2015) he would start dating again. Within two weeks of joining, I had two short emails from Gabriel, one of which was “Can I see the other half of your smile?” because my profile picture only showed half of my face. We chatted online for four days, and it was the best four days of my life. I went to bed each of those nights with a smile on my face, thinking that even if all that came from this were these four great days of chatting, that would be good enough for me.

Four days later, we arranged to meet at a great restaurant in Montreal called “Liverpool House.” I felt nervous and at peace simultaneously. We had a glass of wine at the bar and shared a beautiful supper over great conversation. Gabriel ordered Armagnac while I had stepped away for a minute, then we moved to a table and stayed up talking until the employees were ready to leave for the night. At one point towards the end of our date, he asked me “Can I see you again?” to which I replied “Yes!!” He walked me to my car, gave me a USB of music he had put together for me, cleaned the snow off my car and said goodnight. As I was pulling into the driveway, I received a text message asking if I arrived home safely. I slept well that night with a smile on my face for what was a perfect night out. He told me later how incredibly amazing that evening was. We went back there for our one-month anniversary and of course, each time we pass Liverpool House, we stop for a kiss.

Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
It was pretty much from the beginning for both of us. Gabriel says he loved me before we even met, and I felt the exact same way. It was an instant connection.

What advice would you give other JDaters?
I think the same advice I would give for any “blind” date: be open-minded but also be careful, remember to meet in a public place, etc. You never know where, when or how you will meet that special someone because for us it was through JDate. Even though we live in the same city, I don’t think our paths would have crossed otherwise.
