The Pico Union Project, the burgeoning Los Angeles nonprofit committed to cross-cultural collaboration in partnership with 15 community groups, will bring a musical and spiritual Shabbat service to the Los Angeles Ford Amphitheatre on August 29, 2014.

Shabbat at the Ford is made possible by a generous grant from the Jewish Community Foundation and will be held for the 4th consecutive year at one of the city’s most beautiful outdoor venues, the Ford Amphitheatre. The evening will include musical performances from international Israeli singer Shany Zamir, folk singer Martin Storrow, the LIFE Choir, and an unforgettable dance piece from Keshet Chaim Dance Ensemble.

Gates open at 6:00 pm and guests are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner while enjoying a pre-show festival featuring strolling music from Mostly Kosher Klezmer, along with hands on activities by Shalom Institute. Shabbat services will begin at 8:00 pm led by musicians, rabbis and cantors from throughout the city.

Special thanks to our friends at JDate that helped make this event possible. Participating organizations also include Vista Del Mar, Shalom Institute, Temple Emanuel, Jewish World Watch, Valley Beth Shalom, Adat Ari El, USC Hillel, Beit Tshuvah, Sinai Temple/Atid, Word of Encouragement, Temple Judea, Leo Baeck Temple, and Kehillat Israel.

Tickets are $20. The event will sell out, so don’t delay!
