After many JDates, we had both experienced the good, the bad and the ugly. We met for Chinese on a Sunday night for our first date and stayed for a few hours, talking over fortune cookies. We spent the next year getting to know each while experiencing South Florida together: the beach, theater, movies and, of course, going out for Chinese food!

A little over a year later, we went out on a rainy summer night for Chinese food and to see a crazy play I picked called “The Facts of Life, The Lost Episode” (in drag, of course). Later, we came home and Gary pulled out another fortune cookie and gave it to me. It was the best fortune ever. It said, “Will you marry me, Sara?”
