Jason had been using JDate for several years, but had not had much success. In 2010, Stacey’s father encouraged her to give JDate a try. Stacey’s original subscription was about to expire when she received a message from Jason. They chatted on the computer first, then talked on the phone for over an hour! The two talked about everything (seriously, everything!) and decided to meet for coffee the next day.

Stacey lived closer to Fort Worth, but was planning to be in Dallas on August 28 to have dinner with her family for her father’s birthday. Jason was living in Dallas at the time. After dinner with her family, Stacey met Jason for coffee in Addison, Texas, and the rest was history! They have been together ever since. The happy couple is grateful to Jason’s former employer for moving him down to Texas, and that JDate brought them together. Jason and Stacey adopted a lab mix (Kayla) and love her very much!

The Proposal Story:

Wednesday, April 4, 2012, started off like a regular day for Stacey. She went to work and received an email from a colleague stating that a friend was in the area and wanted to have drinks after work. Since this was a common experience for Stacey, she thought nothing of it. Stacey gladly accepted the invitation.

That afternoon, Stacey left with her colleague for the restaurant, which was very close to her office. After about 20 minutes at the restaurant, Stacey’s colleague received a text and told her that they needed to return to the office. Stacey returned to the office and saw several staff members standing around her office door. Stacey looked in to her office and saw rose petals on the floor of her office and Jason sitting in her chair with a beautiful flower arrangement. Stacey walked in and Jason got down on one knee and was barely able to say too many words before he asked her, “Will you marry me?”

Stacey (allegedly) grabbed the ring from Jason and did not even let him place the ring on her finger when she screamed “Absolutely!” Jason did an amazing job planning the proposal. Stacey had no idea he had been traveling to Dallas to design the engagement ring for months. Jason had also arranged for a neighbor to watch their dog, Kayla. Jason thought of everything to ensure they had the most memorable night!

The Wedding:

Stacey and Jason were married on March 2, 2013, and had the most amazing ceremony and reception at the Dallas World Aquarium in Dallas, Texas. Their pictures are beautiful! They honeymooned in St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands, where they relaxed, ate lots of delicious seafood, and drank for about a week.

Their Advice to Other JDaters®:

Our advice to others is to simply be yourself, and to not be afraid to talk about important issues early on in the relationship. It helps ensure both people are on the same page and have the same goals.

Thank you!
