Fall is well underway, and this is the time of year everyone wants to cozy up with their sweetheart. If it’s cold where you live, a bottle of wine sipped by the fireplace is pretty much the perfect scenario. But that’s not the only thing to do this time of year. In fact, there are some incredible date ideas you’ll want to plan with a special someone ASAP. Some sweet, some scary, but all perfect for the fall season!

1. Apple Picking

Apple picking in the fall is a popular activity, but there’s so much more than just apple picking that you can incorporate into this date! Grab some hot cider and drink it among the foliage before or after you’ve picked the apples. Then, head home and bake an apple pie together to end on a sweet note.

2. Wine Tasting

This is always a good idea no matter the time of year, but it’s especially enjoyable in the fall. Find a vineyard (or just a local wine shop) near where you live, and head out there for the afternoon, enjoying all the different wines they have to offer. If it’s a cold day, stick to reds and maybe enjoy a nice dinner afterwards to warm up.

3. Horror Movie Night

Find a few classic horror movies and have a horror movie marathon for date night. Even if you’re petrified of said movies, you’ll be cuddling up with your guy/girl, so you can hide your face in their shoulder whenever you get scared.

4. Farmers Market

Head to the farmers market and grab some seasonal ingredients before heading home to whip up a meal. You can either cook together or you can each make your own dish, almost like a little “cooking contest.” There’s something undeniably flirty about cooking together.

5. Football Game

Even if neither of you are football fans (or if one of you might be, but the other isn’t), grab some tickets at the last minute (nose bleed section is fine), tailgate and then enjoy the game. Drink all the beer you want, eat all the hot dogs you want and just have a ball (pun intended).

6. Haunted House

It’s that time of year! Haunted houses can be found everywhere, and while they may seem “juvenile,” they’re really fun as an adult, too. Personally, I find them rather scary, but there’s something exhilarating about them, especially when walking through one with your date, squeezing each other’s hands for a boost of confidence.

As you can see, there are tons of great date ideas for the fall season! Try something you don’t normally gravitate towards (scary movies!) or do something you know and love (drink wine!), but whatever it is, take advantage of this incredibly wonderful and incredibly cozy season.

As it gets colder, you might want to hunker down and stay inside in the heat, but try to take advantage of all your town or city has to offer. There are so many options out there, and it’s fun to try something new. Here’s to a blissfully romantic rest of fall! Happy dating!
