How did you meet? What was your first date like? Give us all the details!
Our first date was June 6, 2006. Joe had sent me a “flirt” the week before and we traded a few JDate emails. We made plans to meet for a drink at Gotham Bar and Grill in Union Square (NYC). We sat at the bar and, after a glass of wine, we decided to have dinner. We remained sitting side-by-side at the bar rather than moving to a table (which is how we prefer to eat to this day). Our conversation flowed and we ended up closing down the place. We had our first kiss outside of the restaurant and began planning for a second date.

Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
December 27, 2013: 7 1/2 years after our first date. We had dated the summer of 2006, but the timing wasn’t right. We are in the same industry, so we crossed paths over the years and loosely kept tabs on one another. In August 2013, we traded emails related to work and mentioned meeting up for a drink to catch up. It took four months to coordinate schedules, but we finally made plans. When we arrived at the restaurant, neither of us knew what the other was thinking. An hour in, we both knew that not only were we on our second first date, but that this time, the timing was right.

What advice would you give other JDaters?
In 2006, we were both trying to play the part of what we thought the other was looking for. We were 27 and 29, and although we felt mature, we still had a lot of growing up to do – personally, professionally, spiritually. In 2013, we were completely ourselves: secure in our own skin, established in our careers and with a clear view of what is most important to us. Our advice is that you can’t force timing for your own growth or that of the relationship.
