How did you meet? What was your first date like? Give us all the details!
We first met through instant messaging on JDate in early 2012 and started chatting. We lost touch, but reconnected in early June 2013. After a couple weeks of chatting and breaking the ice a little, we set up our first date on June 14, 2013, a date that we continue to use as our anniversary.
We decided to keep the date casual and met up for frozen yogurt. I was nervous but excited at the same time, and when I first saw Melissa, I got even more excited. We ordered our yogurt and sat down to enjoy. For two and a half hours, we learned more about each other; I told her about my family, she told me about hers, the places we’ve traveled, the professions that we are in, which is something that we both have in common and are passionate about, and just laughing up the evening, having fun at the same time. Two and half hours went by very fast, because the conversation flowed very easily.
The night ended with us saying good night before sharing our first kiss. It was a very special night for the both of us.

Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
The moment that I knew it was true love was after our second date. We went to dinner and a movie, had fun and picked up the conversation right where we left off. I knew it was true love right then and there because I felt a connection like I had never felt before.
For Melissa, the moment that she knew it was true love was after she took me over to meet her parents. She knew after that moment that our relationship was different than anything before, and knew that I was in it for the long haul.

What advice would you give other JDaters?
The advice that we would give to other JDaters is to be patient and to trust your instincts. We also want to encourage JDaters to be their true, authentic selves and to not be afraid to put yourselves out there. Nothing ever happens overnight, but in time, it will. This is advice that we want to hand down to other JDaters out there looking for true love.
